What the app does
Charts
Indicators and drawing tools on a touch screen. Pinch to zoom and swipe to scroll the chart.
Placing orders
Market orders, and pending limit and stop orders. You can set a stop-loss and take-profit on each one.
Notifications
Alerts you set in desktop MT5 can send a notification to your phone. You link the two with the MetaQuotes ID shown in the app.
Same account on every device
A trade you open on your computer shows in the app as soon as it connects, and a trade you open in the app shows on your computer.
Live and demo accounts
Keep your live and demo accounts in the same app and switch between them in a couple of taps.
Questions about the mobile app
Is the MT5 mobile app free?+
Yes. The MetaTrader 5 app is free on the App Store and Google Play. You log in with your NAMH Global account, live or demo, and there is no subscription or in-app purchase.
Is the mobile app limited compared to desktop?+
Yes, in a few ways. It has charts with indicators, market and pending orders, one-click trading and your account history. It has no Strategy Tester or code editor, and it cannot run Expert Advisors.
Can I install EAs on the mobile app?+
No. Expert Advisors cannot be installed or run in the mobile app. An EA keeps trading on your computer, as long as MT5 stays open there, or on a VPS you arrange yourself. The app shows the trades it opens.
Does mobile work for active intraday trading?+
For checking and adjusting open trades, yes. If you place many orders in a session, desktop or WebTrader is easier, because one-click trading is quicker with a mouse than on a touch screen.
Will my positions stay open if I close the app?+
Yes. Positions, pending orders and stop-losses are held on our trade server, not on your phone, so closing the app does not affect them. They stay open until you close them, a stop-loss or take-profit is hit, or a margin stop-out closes them.
What devices does MT5 mobile support?+
iPhone, iPad and Android phones and tablets. MetaQuotes maintains both apps and sets the minimum system version, which is listed on the App Store and Google Play pages.
